Engineering Lead Industrial Automation – Sarajevo
Location: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
ekvip automation GmbH is a software company specializing in mechanical and industrial engineering, headquartered in Leipzig with subsidiaries in the U.S. and Sarajevo. We develop TwinCAT 3 frameworks (including our open-source framework cinnamon), C# applications for the machine and line level, as well as services related to commissioning. To expand our Sarajevo office, we are looking for an Engineering Lead who will build an automation team, establish a customer network, and successfully implement industrial automation projects.
Your responsibilities
Establish and provide technical leadership for a TwinCAT 3 team in Sarajevo focused on PLC development in mechanical engineering
Establish Sarajevo as a key supplier for our projects while simultaneously serving our own customers in the region, e.g., in the automotive/e-mobility sectors in Croatia and Slovenia
Support sales—conduct technical pre-sales discussions with customers, outline solution architectures, and help draft proposals
Support the recruiting process Building a branch office means, above all, finding the right people. You will conduct technical interviews, evaluate technical profiles, and work with HR to develop the local employer brand
Close collaboration with Leipzig and ekvip USA, including regular travel and on-site commissioning at customer sites
Your profile
10+ years of professional experience in industrial automation in the field of special-purpose machine manufacturing or with plant engineering companies
In-depth experience with TwinCAT 3 (Beckhoff ecosystem, IEC 61131-3, OOP in PLCs, EtherCAT).
Commissioning experience at customer sites
Leadership experience in building teams
Business-level proficiency in spoken and written English is required. German is a plus, but not a requirement
PLC experience with Siemens, Bosch, or Allen-Bradley is welcome, as is experience with industrial robotic
